2007
01-31-07: Just recently, I have begun starting to write lyrics/ think of some ideas for a
new album. This will be a gradual process as the last album was. I obviously couldn't give a completion time, but unless things
moved VERY rapidly, I don't see it being completed until 2008. However, I sincerely hope it will be worth the wait.

11-16-06
I'm happy to announce that I am working on a followup single to "Sweet Jasmine" (March, 2006) and 2nd single
for the album, Validity (June, 2006). I picked the single through myspace. Most popular wins! "Still Standing" came on top
with 248 plays! (thanks to anyone who visited the site). The song will accompany a cover of Depeche Mode's "Halo" which is
the first song to be released that was recorded entirely on the Korg Triton LE synthesizer. Another song that may be on the
songlist is an instrumental version of Tool's "Message To Harry Manback". The single will be released on the myspace site

I've been going through heavy psychotherapy and also medication adjustments. Though I may work on it from
time to time, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that I'm taking personal time and the new LaconicAura album will be worked
on slowly rather than swiftly. There will be a second single released from Validity (TBA) which will contain a new version
made with the Korg synthesizer. The single will also feature "Halo" also recorded on the Korg. Until then, again, mental health
has slowed down recording.
I have been working on the site and did add some audio and tonight I typed up all the lyrics for Validity,
so they should be added shortly. I may also do some new Flash artwork and also working on the new LA site. Music, however
is postponed.

I do apologize for my lack of info on the site. Things have been difficult in my personal life lately and
currently:
I was diagnosed Bipolar II at the end of last month. Since then, I've been coping: reading everything I
can on the subject, adjusting my life to meet the needs, etc. My little sister Bridget and ESPECIALLY my girlfriend, Melissa,
have given me overwhelming and very loving support through this bumpy time. I did begin medication that is currently making
me quite ill and to top it off I have kidney stones for the second time. However, onto business:
"Validity" came out via myspace.com and recieved a very welcoming response making it the most widely heard
Battle Cry album to date (over 500 plays). I'm pleased as shit and the final segment has been posted unto the profile. I am
currently re-recording one of the songs that will accompany a cover of Depeche Mode's "Halo" as an electronic single.
I have also been working on a second LaconicAura album titled "Mute". The album has no set release due to
current therapy needs, etc. I do know though I have 2 solid songs already and typically, they come pretty quickly for LA.
Album COULD be out by the end of 2006.
Some writing has begun for the fifth Battle Cry album, however I don't see that album released anytime before
summer of 2007. No direction/structure has been set yet. It just confirms that there will be a fifth album.
More news will be added as it comes. Comments are welcome via my deviantart profile or on myspace.

Mixing for "Validity" finally finished almost a week ago. In an earlier bulletin on myspace.com, it was announced
that the ENTIRE Battle Cry album (being released July 1st) will be available for download on myspace.com (in segments). Now,
Battle Cry announces the first segment of Validity. The segments go as follows (as does the tracklisting).
July 1st - 10th
1. Sweet Jasmine 2. Age of Devestation 3. Shadowman 4. Every Morning
July 11th - 20th
5. Breath Dance 6. Lips Bleed Antidotes 7. Now Unseen 8. Moment of Clarity
July 21 - 30th
9. Still Standing 10. Locked Inside 11. The Suffering 12. Anything at Any Price
In related news, I've begun work on a new LaconicAura album, the first since 2003's Versatile.
LA will also arrive on myspace. More news to come.
6-3-06
"I am very pleased to announce that today the vocal recording for VALIDITY reached it's end. The only
work left to do is to mix the album and package it. Battle Cry's fourth album, Validity, will be fully finished at the LATEST
of July 2006. New songs should be popping up on myspace within a few weeks and probably will totally overtake the songs currently
on here. ALL songs will be made downloadable and gradually the ENTIRE album will be released through myspace. This was the
only means in which I could successfully "release" the album widespread, something that I've wanted to do for a very, very
long time. The final songs are (in no particular order yet):
Sweet Jasmine - Every Morning - Blackened Eye - Lips Bleed Antidotes - Now Unseen - Breath Dance - Age Of
Devestion - Locked Inside - Shadowman - The Suffering - Still Standing - Anything At Any Price - Black Celebration (depeche
mode cover)
Thanks to all those who supported this album from the beginning. After almost 11 solid months of working, it is finished."

Besides work on BC's 4th album "Validity" there has also been a lot of background recording/writing
going on. There's the probable second LaconicAura (BC instrumental side project since 2003) album. The tentative album
title is "Mute", which should be out sometime in the winter. There has also been surprisingly heavy writing already for Battle
Cry's fifth album (obviously untitled) which could be out as early as winter 2007. Another surprising move is I've been re-recording
some of the older BC songs. At this time, the only songs recorded are "Cold" and "Isolation". I'm unsure whether this will
lead to it's own collective release or not. One thing is for sure, things have obviously changed since last winter. I seem
to have no movement towards setting music down for awhile, the workaholic I am.
Of course, first things first. One track has been added to "Validity", a cover of depeche mode's
"Black Celebration" (one of the first songs to be released with the new synth). Kinda excited to see what happens actually.
Thanks to those who support, means a lot to me.
05-16-06
Cover for Validity FINALLY finished. In the end, I went to one of the first designs I
did for 2006. Edging closer to release of the album with only a few vocal tracks and minor details left. July maybe?
04-23-06
"Sweet Jasmine" was finally released on myspace today. Vocal work continues on the rest of the
album and it is definate the album will be out this summer (July at the latest).
04-19-06
Vocal work began this month and are now 90% complete. Some song titles have changed and will be noted in the future. “Sweet
Jasmine” (the first “single” since “Exploration) will be released on myspace.com by the end of the
month as well as on the website. Cover art is in works for that single even though it may not be packaged. I am so far quite
pleased with the vocals as it ventures down a new path. They’re very soulful and not so constricted in a format, some
great choruses too.
01-24-06Re-recording continues on the fourth BC album. Some info to be released in
the following.
There has been one song added to the list, a piano instrumental entitled “A Moment Of Silence” recorded today.
Recorded in the way the LA songs were recorded, in the moment.
The album, I’m officially (although subject to change) “VALIDITY” - I decided on the
name due to my feelings as far as the future of BC. I don’t feel that it’s anywhere near its end and this album
is by far the most well grounded that I’ve done. Songwriting is organized and precise. Album due out hopefully by Summer
2006.
Instrumentation used on the album:
So far, no guitar or bass has been used at all. I feel the last album, The Year After, really kinda broadcasted a rock
format and I don’t want to back myself into a corner to the point of where it kills the name to back away from the guitars
again. Some MIGHT be added, but I doubt it as the songs just couldn’t justify. The Casio keyboard (same keyboard used
on the previous 3 albums) is making its final appearance on most of the songs. However, and I’ve been sitting on this
news for some time now, I have been working on a Korg Triton LE synthesizer. The addition of the synthesizer directly forced
the re-recording of some songs. Although, not all songs will feature the Korg.
I hope to have a song completed fully within the next few months to release ahead of the album, though I’m unsure
of which song to pick yet, very good chance the song will be “Sweet Jasmine”.
1-22-06
Re-recording of some of the tracks off the upcoming album has begun and I must say, I'm very pleased with
its immediate result. Still working on vocals though. The album is moving forward, but as I said months ago, I'm not rushing
this album because I want it to come out very right. There is a hidden secret laying in the re-recordings. We'll just say
that Battle Cry is taking a step in the future.
I also have started thinking of a second LaconicAura album and maybe reviving the (to me) legendary Tweak
project. To those who don't date back to 2001-2003 or so. Tweak is a project I've been trying to make based on heavier music.
So definately some new positive things coming in 2006+. Stay tuned!
2005
12-19-05:
Lyrics and Vocals are starting to come together loosely. I will not be using the same vocal mic as the last album
and hopefully plan to bring out a much more organic sound to my voice this time around as opposed to the processed sound of
The Year After. Album titles are slowly coming into sight, but the album and tracks are still untitled.
12-10-05:
As of the ninth of December, the main part of the upcoming album has been completed. 13 songs (subject to change) will
appear on the album. Below are the working titles (not the final titles) of the songs.
Dark Alley
From My Heart
Humanity
Moment of Clarity
Open Tunnel
Sweet Jasmine
Classix
Darkness
Hall Of Echoes
Knock The Wind
New Destiny
Recital
Vulnerable
NO vocals/lyrics have been written for the album, nor is there any formal concept for the album at this time. At this point,
the album moves forward to vocal work which could take anywhere from a month to 3 months or as long as it takes to get it
right. The vague release date could be as early as Summer of 2006. I don’t expect this one out anytime sooner than that
though as I’m taking extra time to get more feeling into the music. If things need to be re-recorded, they will be.
I will say the songs that make up the tapestry so far are varied in styles from club-type songs to very classically based.
More news to come as the vocal work begins sometime this coming week.
12-06-05
Now in the estimated 4th month of recording the next Battle Cry album the near 20 songs are starting to give shape to what
will become the album. I wrote song #18 tonight and went through fixing another song. Not much for news, but work continues.
No completion date as of yet. I doubt it will be later than Summer of 2006 though.
PromoCD hopefully going out to college radio and others by the end of January 2006 which will feature selected tracks from
previous releases. No new material will be featured
11-28-05
I have been having problems with Tripod lately and the new website for Battle Cry. This could either be a problem with
my Tripod profile or my computer. Probably the latter. In either case, I hope to have it fixed within a reasonable amount
of time.
DeccenaryRetrospective failed to make radio play to my knowledge. It’s okay though, I just thought I would give it
a shot and it by no means ends any future plans for BC. DR actually has stood up as one of the most powerful BC releases to
date other than The Year After. Copies have circulated nicely and I’m very happy with the feedback. Even had an elderly
couple send out a compliment on the EP. So, things are definitely moving upstream.
As for the future of Battle Cry. . . . Here is the lowdown from the studio:
-As of 11-28-05 15.5 songs have been written. Half because I’m still working with one. The plan is to write about
30 songs and pick the best 10-12 tracks of them.
-Songs will be written musically first. Entirely. Vocals/Lyrics will be written last. Which is a very new way of writing
for me and will hopefully open up new doors.
-I am taking this album VERY seriously. It may only get heard by 5 people but fuck it, I’m gonna make an album that
I can sit back and be proud of.
-There is no tentative release date or title for the upcoming album
-No artist has been picked yet for cover work.
-Equipment wise, this will be the last BC album recorded with the Casio C200 (I think lol) Semi-synth. After 4 albums,
I believe it’s time to say farewell. Vocally, there MIGHT be a bit of enhancing on my vocals - both naturally and processing.
A PromoCD for Battle Cry is due to be released late 2005/early 2006. This PromoCD will only be for college radio and potential
acoustic venues. It will not contain any new material. No title has been given to the promo cd but the artist’s take
on Battle Cry (which became the cover of the promo) can be seen here: http://www.deviantart.com/view/24145537/ . Artwork done by Diregram.
Other than that, I’m continuing to work my butt off trying to produce a really great album. Until then updates will
continue. . . . . . . . Brian Wardwell

Battle Cry. The EP has gotten very little, yet very good feedback. I actually can go back and listen to it and not tear
it apart. It's been introduced to MSUM college radio and I may continue to push the boundaries out slowly, which hasn't been
done for many years.
Trista Whitman, former member of Battle Cry, recently contacted me by a strange coincidence. It ended a seven year long
silence between us since we lost touch back in 1998. It greatly excited me and really brought back a lot of memories and kinda
reformed me on why I do it in the first place. I do give special thanks to her for the respect she's given me, both in the
old days and currently. I do also feel that such a small little, seemingly meaningless, experience will have a major impact
of writing the fourth full length album.
There are many things that I hope to push with the new record. So far, the songs have a fair amount of classical foundation
to them which is new to me. However, it's also going back to my roots from when I was in choir and singing Bach, Beethoven,
etc. The way the songs have to be done is quite different and unlike any other album I've worked on. There are currently six
songs so far. Some were birthed from vocals that I kindof improv'ed and others were written in the old way of starting with
a keyboard track and building upon that. One thing to remember though is when ur not building from a strong percussive base,
you have to really pay a lot more attention to the music itself. At least that's what I've felt so far.
I do know as the album will progress it will be take the most time in the area of composition. In an estimated four months
of writing, I've only produced six songs with no lyrics or vocals attached. A good share of those may not even stick with
the album. I just really want to accomplish something new. It maybe won't me something new in terms of history of music and
it may not be calculated like a great musician could, but for me, it's already growing very differently.
Vocally, I can only take a stab in the dark and say pay some attention to the vocal style of "I'm Sorry" off Decennary
Retrospective. I want to broaden the soul and give it a much fuller sound in terms of feeling. So, very wet and rich vocals
is something I'm trying to keep in mind as the songs grow.
Lyrically, expect something different. I've gone through poetry books to kinda pinpoint actual poems or vibes of poems
and cut out a lot that I felt are just negative. Topically, things will hopefully change. Instead of the usual songs of dispair,
I may be taking a more ethical and political base to things left unsaid for many years.
The fourth album is in no means anywhere near completion. I can't even put an estimation at it's arrival other than saying
late summer to late winter of 2006, maybe even later. I'm not pressuring myself on it and hoping it'll evolve just as I have.
Naturally and unrefined. Something positive yet not peppy. Something that will leave a listener feeling a bit different. A
person possibly feeling unnerved yet oddly comforted by it's depth. I'm also trying not to get overly influenced. This is
not a Depeche Mode influenced record or anything like I've said in the past. It will hopefully be, quite simply, the best
parts of me I have to express at this time, happy or insightful especially.
In closing, don't expect another album like "A Year After" as I highly doubt it will take that direction. I'm not even
looking at adding in much guitar or anything on the album. Titles aren't forced for either the album or the songs. Quite simply,
hope for something different.

A copy of DeccenaryRetrospective was released to MSUM (Minnesota State University of Moorhead) radio. This
could be the first time BC has ever hit airwaves. I'll keep you updated on how the situation unravels. However, if you would
like to check out the station anyway, here is the link: http://www.dragonradio.org/

DECCENARYRETROSPECTIVE RELEASED LATE EVENING AUGUST 30TH, 2005. The album will be distributed as always, don't
want to jumble too much up at this point. more description to come, just wanted to get the news up.
08-24-05
The release of DeccenaryRetrospective has been delayed. Due to personal reasons, not specified here. Possible
release: Late September/Early October.
08-08-05
Battle Cry portion of brianwardwell.net opens featuring more lyrics, more music, better graphics and QUICKER
SPEED.
In Battle Cry news: The cover for Deccenary Retrospective has been solidified by DeviantArt artist, Kristena
Cuadrado. I've admired her work for over 6 months now and truely brings in emotion into the album. The cover demonstrates
why I do music in which I reach out and find a peaceful plas amidst the chaos. Please take a minute and check out
her work at http://shakealicious.deviantart.com/
Deccenary Retrospective soon to be released . . . . .
07-14-05: Mixing for Deccenary Retrospective completed this morning. Tracklisting
will be as follows. The re-recording of "Bored" turned a lot more humorous than the original, but hopefully it'll brighten
someone's day. One new track, "I'm Sorry", was written in November of 2004 and demonstrates a good balence as far as how the
sound has progressed over the past 10 years. The EP moves onto packaging and I dont see any reason why it shouldn't be out
by the end of August at the latest. 1. Alone 2. Perfect 3. Betrayal 4. Uncommon 5. Bored 6. Ward 7.
I'm Sorry 8. Let It Be
05-07-05: Announcement of a possible fourth album. I began writing lyrics for it a few days ago.
Nothing set in stone yet, but BC is anything but slowing down.
05-04-05 Vocal recording for Decennary Retrospective started and ended with
one session. My vocals flowed nicely and I was in the perfect frame of mine to do it. It came out great. So, the new EP is
officially fully recorded and moves onto the mixing stages. Release of late summer absolute and this EP will be applied to
college radio stations in Fargo, ND. Simply for fun. Cover artist not yet assigned though an application has been added on
DeviantArt.com. Following is the tracklisting, but not in order. Perfect (originally 1995) Alone (originally
1996) Betrayal (originally 1996) Uncommon (originally 1997) Bored (originally 1997) Ward (originally 1997 - remix
appeared on a single for 1999's "A Tear For You) I'm Sorry (title pending - 2005) Let It Be (beatles cover - 2005)
04-22-05:
Deccenary Retrospective.
Late Summer 2005.
More news coming.
02-23-05: EP news: A formal decision has been made to make an acoustic EP looking back 10 years.
As said in the last news entry, details are still sketchy. However, I will keep it somewhat short and not cash in. The EP,
to be titled "Decennary Retrospective", will surely be out by summer. Artist for cover art and design currently undecided
but I'm looking into it. The album will again feature all original songs, as I'm trying to stay away from covers the past
few years. Keep ya posted.
02-20-05 I've neglected Battle Cry a bit since the release of "The Year After"
I guess it just worries me a bit. So many people liked it, it went out to more people than any other album I had done. Just
got spooked with a taste of success. Yes, spooked. I've never performed a live show, I don't know how the music business works,
I don't have any professional experience. . . even after 10 years. When the album went off like it did I started to worry
about how I was going to bring BC to the stage, if needed. It would love to say that something has changed.
It really hasn't. Success always worries me, so it seems like I almost subconciously sabotage any success. For the past 10
years, I've had one belief. I don't want it to get big. I could handle a small indie label but nationwide success would just
torment me without proper leadership. I'm going to move forward with things though. The earlier radio promotion may go through
and I will post an update when I find out more. However, as far as any possible live scenarios, . . . just not the point in
time. I only know one musician in Fargo that I know and trust. Like I've said in the past, I'm a bit of a control freak. Adding
in a natural shyness doesn't help things. As for the future of BC, I'll continue to hand out copies of The Year
After (have to make more) and that will continue through til summer at least. I have been working with a lot of acoustic material
the past month. So, a possible recollective 10th anniversary thing may arrive by the end of the year at the latest. If all
continues, an EP looking back 10 years to when I recorded "Perfect". Rerecordings of the SOS songs (currently unavailable)
and at least 2 new songs. My version of a best of. I played with the idea of doing acoustic versions of past BC songs as well.
All will be known in coming months.
01-06-05: First ten copies of "The Year After" released on a limited edition
blue cd. Only the first ten copies recieved the blue cd and all other copies of "The Year After" will be burned on your average
silver cd. There now are 13 copies of the album out, with a goal of 50 (which would make it the most heard release of mine).
More news coming soon.
2004
12-29-04: Battle Cry "The Year After" officially released. Art direction by Paula Jensen.
We made the deadline :) . Available now!! Lyrics for the album coming very soon.
12-23-04:
Brian has completed a collection of photographs entitled "Collapsing" on DeviantArt. All photographs were taken
and munipulated by Wardwell. Click here to view the photos.
12-16-04: BATTLE CRY'S THIRD ALBUM COMPLETED!! Click here for more info.
12-15-04: "The Year After" Tracklisting 1. Losing Grip 2. Fallen 3. Graveyard 4. Exploration 5.
Mirror 6. The Course 7. Consume You 8. The 28th Day 9. The Year After 10. Autumn 11. Empty
(bonus track) ETA: December 24th, 2004
12-12-04:
The celebration starts to begin inside. Recording finally ceased. This time in a good way instead of all the damn setbacks
(smiles). Not everything comes easy and this is the most difficult album I've made. There were so many just pain in the ass
obsticles. But it prevailed finally and I move into mixing the last 3 tracks. 13 songs total including one bonus track. The
album's opener, "Losing Grip" was recorded a long time back. Late 2002 actually. Nice vintage opening and then it slides into
the very new sound of "Fallen". Tracklisting should appear up here either tomorrow or the next day as mixing completes. Then
it is entirely finished. And a new chapter has been written. Thanks to all those that supported throughout the past 18 months,
it is graciously appreciated and I can never repay it.
12-2-04:
Release: I'm going to push forward and try and finish this album up by the end of the week. Cross your fingers. My goal
is to have it out by Christmas, which in a musician's time, doesn't give me much time. If not, it will for sure be released
by the end of January. Keep checking back as the album is almost completed. I will also be posting my thoughts on where BC
is right now and the album itself soon.
11-23-04: "Exploration" single released. "It really isn't a single as it's
a solo recording, not a collection of versions/B-sides. This is still one of my favorite guitar riffs/chord progressions I've
ever written. It was a bit obvious that it was going to be a stand-out track as it kinda has been for the past year. The
lyrics take you through a sea of uneasiness as to what everything means. In very simple terms. Having written the lyrics late
2002 while on a road trip, I was quickly proud of it and shockingly (for that point in time) passed it around the car. Unlike
past BC stuff, I'm actually very happy with this song's turnout.
11-21-04: Announcing that a "single" will be released prior to the release of the new Battle
Cry album, "The Year After". Release of the song is set for late November.
11-6-04 New promotion! Battle Cry now appears with a profile on Myspace ( http://myspace.com/ ). I'm hoping this will open things up where more people are able to hear but most importantly, the new stuff really gets
heard. Check it out if you wish and feel free to leave comments on the page as well (no holes barred). Thanks.
10-26-04: Things are moving much quicker and more experimental than expected. New to the
sound is a surprising addition of recording live bass. I simply did it by accident and it makes such a huge impact on the
music that I was instantly hooked. So, there will be real bass guitar on the new album. Basslines should be completed within
a few days and then guitar will be recorded, which is the final step before mixing and editing.
10-25-04: Vocals now complete. Guitar recording due to start next week. A few bonus tracks
to appear on the album. Details coming.
10-20-03: Album artwork projects have begun. This time around, much like the first BC album,
I'm letting someone else work on artwork. So, at least at this time, Paula Jenson will be creating the imagery for "The Year
After".
10-19-04 Update: Vocal work now approx. 75 % done. When vocals are completed, guitars will
be added. After the guitars have been recorded, for the first time, I'll be in the mixing stage. No BC album has been edited
in that way before due to cassette recording. The title of "Limbo" has been changed to "Consume Me". Release still possible
by the end of the year.
10-8-03: The new album has moved into the next phase. With all keyboards completed, I move
onto guitars and eventually vocals. This is the furthest this album has gotten, and I'm confident that it will be completed
by the end of the year. By winner of the votes, the album has been titled "The Year After". Tracklisting is as follows (in
no such order): All Good Ends The Year After Exploration Graveyard The Coarse Limbo Autumn Fallen The
28th Day Song titles are subject to change.
9-22-04: New material? Recording has resumed on the third installment of Battle Cry once
again. As I feel sometimes need their time to grow, this is the time to do the album for sure. I feel relaxed about it and
basically very openminded. Some new changes and some stuff that'll stick to a previous format a little bit. Some songs from
the original Decay set up will remain like "All Good Ends" , "Exploration" , and "The Coarse". While new songs like "Limbo"
, "Compass", and "Song for the working man" break out a new vibe. It is difficult to see the album's point and message, but
as it grows I will update. Thanks for stickin with this one. As for reissues, they are available upon request
officially though covers may be a problem as I'm having printer trouble. Computers plauging a Battle Cry project? Always ;).
Take care.
7-11-04:
BATTLE CRY REISSUES UPDATE: I have finished the reissue of 02 BC. Sadly, one track had to be cut due to the albums 86
minute length. "There's No Escape" will be posted on the site for download. It really saddened me to have to cut that song
of all of them as it's one of my favorites. But, as it's a 10 minute instrumental, it had to be. Reissues to be done by August
2004, I swear. Then we prepare for the new album. More news coming soon.
4-8-04: Been a long time since there's been a news entry, but it's worth the wait. After
doing the LaconicAura album and site, I took an extended break from anything musical. The first two Battle Cry reissues will
be available by May 1st, 2004. It marks the first release in over a year which was Demo 2 (and was even a cover album). I've
also been preparing the new album formerly known as "Decay". Release may be within the summer of 2004. Battle Cry is no longer
on the backburner. The 6 month hiatus is over.
2003
11-25-03: Coming Soon: LaconicAura I've been working under a different name on some
totally different music. It doesn't hit on Battle Cry stuff at all. LaconicAura is entirely instrumental, and at times morbid,
other times uplifting. I took a lot of time looking at atmospheres while working on LA. Nobody knew about the project as I
wanted it to be untainted and not influenced. LA is just basically how I feel inside shown from a musical and atmospheric
point of view rather than by lyrics or words.Website opening up soon at: http://laconicaura.tripod.com
11-18-03:
Battle Cry still not in the works until early/mid 2004. It is undetermined whether or not Decay will be finished. I've
totally gone away from that album because it doesn't feel like it's right at this time.
11-10-03:
Battle Cry on back burner until at least early 2004. "Situations from the deaths need to be resolved before I can continue,
too painful otherwise." A possible side project could be in the works though, but is not promised in any way.
10-26-03:
Battle Cry on hiatus: Below is a letter explaining the situation. Please don't drink and drive as we've lost another
kick ass person. Rest In Peace Matt. You will not be forgotten. Now going through 2 deaths, I turned back to Decay with
hope that things could come together. They have not, however. My perception of rhythem is off and I just can't concentrate
on it like I was before. In the meantime though, I will be getting 02 BC and The Odyssey onto CD format (kindof like a reissue).
There is also hours of unreleased stuff still stuck on tapes. But I guess everything is unreleased for you guys isn't it.
As for Decay, I really wanted to get this album done, but I just can't do it right now. I need to be able to
put full effort into it. Battle Cry is on hiatus now, as I need to be taking time trying to put other things back together.
Usually the word "hiatus" is associated with the end. The end of Battle Cry? I can't say for sure, only time will tell. As
for a prediction: Recording may resume in November, but December or January is a more probable time. -Brian

10-14-03:
Work has progressed on all songs except 3. There may be a possible bonus track or two on the album as well. Just a heads
up. I'm going to take a short break while I redo my computer. Decay possibly done by the end of the year, but probably
early 2004.
10-7-03:
Downspell lyrics revealed. "The song is truely emotional but builds gradually. Recording coming along good with probably
a small break soon. Stay tuned.
10-4-03: New site opens!! After 4 and a half straight outs of migraine punching work, it's finally done. There will be
newer lyrics coming and an updated links page. Hope you like the new setup.
10-1-03:
Decay is coming along smoothly with about 20% of the keyboard/drum tracks recorded. There's an audio message from Brian
above, during recording (I was actually talking to myself :) ). I do want to say though that I use no sequencer for the drum
tracks, they are all played live on the keyboard.
9-29-03:
Decay begins recording!!
9-26-03:
"We lose someone we love and cherish, while times may be rough, we have to remember the good that continues to occur
around us" Rest In Peace. A site will be set up in memorial, but will take time. "The Course" added to the audio page. Your
support during this time will never be compensated, thanks so so much.
9-20-03:
A demo of "Exploration" has been added. It's a really soft song and the original version wasn't half as good. Things
coming along smoothly so far, could begin recording the album as early as September 29th.
9-16-03:
A demo of "All Good Ends" has been added to the Audio page. It's shorter than previous songs, so less download time.
Pre-recording work continues for Decay and I've been reworking the songs to have an electronic element. Stay Tuned!
9-14-03:
"I'm happy to announce that 'Decay' is once again moving forward. There's been some equipment problems, but I'm going
to improvise and come up with something. This may not be an acoustic after all or it still could be. Only time will tell.
As soon as true recording begins (just playing with ideas currently), I'll post an update. The break is over though."
8-18-03:
Decay Delayed Indefinately: "I feel that my personal conflictions and situations make me unable to begin recording and
putting together an album as important as this one will be. I said I'll be a perfectionist on this one. That includes me knowing
when I can put myself into it, and when I cannot. The site will be updated as usual, but recording will be held off. I'd still
like to begin recording by the end of the year."
7-29-03:
Decay Recording Delayed: "Due to personal conflicts as well as equipment, Decay will be postponed. I don't see the delay
running more than a month though"
7-23-03:
Decay co-producer announced: Tony Hagen, who also did some work on Demo 2, will be helping Brian with recording.
"He'll be my little helper hehe"
